What it’s like Being an Intern: With Conan [VIDEO]

From the day I started, to where I’m at right now, I have learned new aspects about radio, made new connections, and grew into a better person overall. This internship is literally one of my favorite positions I’ve had in my life. I know what you guys are thinking, ‘this girl is just kissing up to her boss and trying to put in a good word’. No. That’s not it. Working with these different radio stations at Cumulus, meeting new people, and seeing how every position works here has been a HUGE blessing to me.

Coming into my internship was a little scary, I honestly thought I wasn’t going to fit in or I was going to mess up on something. But people that work with radio are probably the nicest people you’ll ever meet, even though many can be sarcastic. But it’s all about being yourself and doing what you love to do. And honestly, I can say to this day, that I feel at home when I work here, even if I might not be super close a coworker or my boss. I still feel comfortable with all of them.

Yes, we all have those days where we don’t want to go to work. I am not a morning person AT ALL, and public transportation scares me too (LIKE A LOT), but I still did had to go through these obstacles to get to my job. I even had those days where I was really moody and wanted to go back to my bed, but I pushed all of those things aside. I personally believe that I am a great worker, and not getting paid really does stink, but getting experience is what internships are really about.

I found an old video of one of my favorite celebs, Conan O’Brien. He basically hangs out with his interns for the day, and starts fooling around. It definitely reminds me of my work environment. From bosses making fun of interns to taking Snapchats of people goofing off, the fun never stops. This video is so funny, and it easily describes how much fun working with media is all about.

Hope you all enjoy. 🙂
