The 17th Annual Punkin Chuckin Contest will take place at 16339 N. Springfield Road (at the corner of Allentown and Springfield Rd in Rural Tazewell County) beginning at 10 am. Bring lawn chairs and comfortable shoes for a different fall outing featuring 25 to 30 machines built for the sole purpose of hurling a pumpkin as far as they can plus kid’s activities, kettle corn, carnival rides and food Distance tosses begin at Noon. Morton is host to the 2nd oldest Punkin Chuckin contest in the nation with over 8,000 people a day who venture out to watch this unique sport. Morton is home to the Q36 Pumpkin Modulator, which holds the Guiness Book of Records distinction of hurling a pumpkin 4,859 ft. set in 1998.
