For me, everyday is national pizza day! I.LOVE.PIZZA! I swear I am part ninja turtle.
If you don’t like pizza, you are crazy! Or, lactose-intolerant.
I love pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and jalapenos. I am open to exploring other toppings, but DO NOT put olives or mushrooms on my pizza. That is punishable by death. Thin crust or deep dish, if you give it to me, it will get eaten!
Since it is national pizza day, I am going to share with you my favorite places in Peoria to grab a slice, or pie!
Aurelios Pizza – 3821 N Sterling Ave., Peoria
First off, my childhood favorite! So glad we finally got an Aurelio’s pizza. Something about the sauce is just fire! I get it at LEAST once a month. It can be a little more on the expensive side, but when you take a bite, you will understand why! Their fresh ingredients make this a great choice any day of the week. PLUS, they have their buffet for lunch. Something to try if you haven’t had it yet. After you do, you will be hooked!
Casey’s Pizza – Multiple Locations (Farmington Rd, Big Hollow Rd)
For $10, you CAN’T beat a pepperoni pizza from Casey’s. The cheese, the dough, the grease… SO GOOD! You wouldn’t think a gas station pizza could be this good, but it really is. It’s about as pizza as pizza can get. Lots of folks rave over the taco pizza, but not me. I’m a simple pepperoni or sausage kind of guy. Every once in a while I’ll put jalapenos on it, or maybe go with a Hawaiian pizza. But most of the time, nothing to crazy on my pizza.
OLIVER’S – 1231 E Samuel Ave, Peoria Heights
Oliver’s in the Heights is always a good choice too! Especially if you like a fun atmosphere to go with your pizza. This is some of the most delicious pizza you are going to find in Peoria. You will also find a good time with lots of live music and adult beverages! I can’t think of a time that I have left Oliver’s feeling let down. Everything about this place is great, especially the pizza! And you can get just about anything your heart desires on your pizza. Which always goes perfectly with a delicious beer!
Crusens Farmington Road & War Memorial Drive
So, you are out late partying at Crusen’s and you wake up with a nasty hangover, what do you do? Go back to Crusen’s and order a pizza and a bloody mary! On the go, or looking to get the night started, Crusen’s is a great place to grab some pizza at a great price! You can get just about anything on it and they usually have awesome drink specials to help wash it down. Sometimes they even have half-priced pizzas!
Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza – 5901 N Prospect Rd
Last, but not least, Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza! Delicious. Absolutely, delicious. Yeah, it’s a little more expensive than a pizza chain, but, you get what you pay for. If you LOVE pizza, you HAVE to try Brienzo’s. Always cooked perfectly over a wood fire stove and always delicious! While the options aren’t as big as other restaurants, you don’t need them. They have selected some of the tastiest pizzas for you to indulge in. And trust me, when you are done eating you will want MORE! It’s really that good.
