Last night’s BET Awards were awesome! Every part of it was solid, to say the least.
The tributes to Prince were spectacular, and there was even a moment that felt like it stopped the earth… it was that powerful!
First off, leave Spike Lee alone! His outfit may have looked a little Willie Wonka-ish, but he was honoring a friend (who happens to be one of the greatest muscians ever!).
And of all the tributes to Prince, I think it’s safe to say Janelle Monae KILLED IT!
Then, there was Jesse William’s speech while accepting the Humanitarian Award! It felt to me like time froze. This was a moment that the world needed! And boy, was it powerful.
He isn’t new to this spotlight, he has been saying these things and fighting for justice for a while now. It’s just that this was the first time many heard him on THIS platform.
If this doesn’t inspire you to create a better tomorrow, you might want to get your head checked!
