The St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer is Coming Soon!

Used with Permission from St. Jude

I want you to think about something for a minute. Think of your kids. Maybe a niece or nephew. Maybe it’s a friend’s children, or maybe you’re a teacher or are around kids a lot! Now think about what would happen if they got sick; you hate seeing them with a cold, but what if this wasn’t the kind of sick that would just run it’s course? Wouldn’t you want the doctors you took your child to to be the BEST in their field? Wouldn’t you want them to get care that’s on the cutting edge of technology? Wouldn’t you want their care providers to use all the information gathered during kids who came before yours to make your child’s treatment the BEST it can be? THAT is St. Jude. St. Jude Children’s research hospital has some of the best care providers in the world who provide the most cutting edge treatments to give every child that comes through the doors their best chance at survival! And the BEST part? No family pays for any of the treatments their children receive. That’s a huge burden. gone. A sick child shouldn’t drive their parents to be away even more for work because they have to figure out how to pay, the kids need their mom and dad, and that’s what St. Jude provides!

I could talk about St. Jude all day. I’ve participated in several event fundraisers, both on air and off and each one has made me more passionate to help in any way I can! Did you know that the Peoria affiliate of St. Jude was the very first affiliate hospital outside of Memphis? Because of that partnership, Peoria has been a place for Midwest families to receive treatments instead of making the trip down to Memphis every time! That means siblings get to stay in school, parents get to keep working during the day, and their child still gets the best care that is offered, all at no cost!

I’m on the committee for the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer and I’m emceeing the event. We want to raise more money than ever before this year, but we need your help, and all we ask is for your Saturday morning on September 23rd! Bring the kids and walk or run the 3.1 for the kids who can’t! Then play! There’s a photo booth, Marvel characters to take pictures with, snacks, and entertainment from Jam Sammich, plus, while you’re having fun, you’re also doing a lot of good for the kids of St. Jude!

Don’t have a team to join? We’ll welcome you to our Cumulus Peoria team! Want to create your own? You can! Want to fund-raise? Even better! Can’t come out, but you still want to do something? You can register as a fundraiser and still earn the perks! Just want to donate? You can do that, too! Shameless link to MY fundraising page here.

Also, if you’re a business who wants to know how you can get involved in this AWESOME event, email me, and I’ll get your information to the other committee members!
