Since it is still Autism Awareness/Acceptance/Activism month, I am doing my part by not only spreading the message, but being an activist too. Because, I “walk it like it talk it!”
So, this Saturday, join me and thousands of others, who walk for inclusion!
Be a part of the Best Buddies Friendship walk at The Corn Crib (1000 W Raab Rd, Normal, Illinois 61761). The event goes from 9a-1p and helps benefit Best Buddies in central Illinois.
What is Best Buddies?
Everybody needs a friend. But not everybody has one. It can be very hard for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to make connections on their own.
So Best Buddies matches them with a peer volunteer to form a “buddy pair”. New friends open up a whole new world of opportunities! And donations from people like you and me make local Best Buddies programs possible.
So, how can you help? If you want to join the event, click here for more info.
If you can’t make it, but still want to help? You can make a donation to ORyan’s team “Cruzin’ With Buddies!”
And here’s the deal. ORyan has a short time frame to hit his goal of $500. Basically, 48 hours. SO, he will donate the first $250, if you can help him match that. So, ORyan will go dollar for dollar to reach the goal.
Please show your support for Best Buddies and people with developmental disabilities. We all need a friend, so show your support and be a friend to the many people and families who live with developmental disabilities and walk for inclusion!
