The unofficial kick off to the Christmas season is almost here! Welcome to the 34th annual East Peoria Festival of Lights holiday light show, to be held November 22 through December 31, 2018! The Parade of Lights will be held on Saturday, November 17th.
According to the Festival of Lights website:
Marking 34 years of holiday cheer, the festival begins with the Parade of Lights and continues through the month of December with the Folepi’s Winter Wonderland drive-through display.
The Festival’s mascot is the wooden soldier Folepi, whose name serves as an acronym for “Festival of Lights, East Peoria, Illinois.”
The parade will start at the intersection of East Washington Street and Dolans Lane (where Auto Zone is located). It will continue along Washington Street, turning left at the intersection with Camp Street.
The floats will then turn right from Washington onto Taylor Street (at East Peoria Autobody), and continue along Taylor (in front of Central Junior High School), ending at Taylor Street and Springfield Road (at the U.S. Post Office).
Make sure your blankets and chairs are ready! And get Gramma’s hot cocoa recipe ready.
