We already know that American Idol loves to tug on your heartstrings, and Monday was no different.

You see the story of Johanna Jones who gushes in her pre-produced interview about her boyfriend, Matt. She calls him “the one” but says she doesn’t know if HE thinks it yet… clearly by the title you know how the story ends, but it’s so cute! If you watch the video from the beginning, you can see the pure love as she describes him and says he couldn’t be there because he had exams all week, but to see the proposal, skip to 2:07. I think I love first how SURPRISED she is to see him on stage! She’s just SO beyond thrilled that he’s there. They cut to her parents who clearly didn’t know the proposal was going down this way (though the dad does say toward the end of the video that he did ask for permission). But the funniest part of this video is watching Katy Perry in the background… she was not okay. She couldn’t handle it, she ended up crouching on the ground positively SOBBING, and at the end declares “I need makeup!”
