First off, what is CASA?
CASA of the Tenth Judicial Circuit (formerly CASA of Peoria County) is a volunteer organization that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the Juvenile Abuse and Neglect Court system in Peoria, Tazewell, Marshall, Putnam and Stark counties.
CASA of the Tenth recruits, trains and provides the court with volunteers who represent the best interest of these children in court proceedings.
The mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Tenth Judicial Circuit is to ensure that every abused and neglected child is placed in a safe and permanent home, by utilizing specially trained community volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children going through the court system.
What is CASAblanca?
CASA’s primary fundraising event of the year is a fun-filled evening featuring local celebrities dancing with local dance instructors and competing against each other. Local celebrity judges will rate each couple’s performance, and with audience votes added in, determine the “Critic Choice Award” winners. Online votes and donations determine the “People’s Choice Award” winners. The event not only offers a dance competition but good food, drink and music. The fourteenth annual CASAblanca: Dancing With the Local Stars is an event not to be missed!
