Yesterday, Logic dropped the music video for 1-800-273-8255. That number, if you are wondering, is the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
So, the song itself is a heavy topic. But the video is even heavier.
Don Cheadle and Matthew Modine are dads, who both find out that their sons are gay.
The boys are played by Nolan Gould from Modern Family and Coy Stewart from Are We There Yet?
In the video, you see Coy’s struggle with handling who he is, and gets to the point of taking his own life. But, he calls the lifeline.
The video DOES have a happy ending though.
Personally, I don’t understand why people care so much about who someone loves. People should worry more about themselves. AND, after reading the extremely disappointing comments section, it’s apparent that many people have their own issues, and feel the need to take it out on others who just want to be happy AND human.
I stand for inclusion! I don’t care who you love, what you look like, or what your dreams are. I support you! And I hope you never need to call the suicide prevention lifeline. But, if you do feel like there is no where to turn, please… call that number.
Check out the music video, and Logic’s explanation about the song and his experiences with his fans that moved him to write this song and new album.
