
The Central Illinois Black Expo is a multicultural event with a unique mix of fun activities, workshops, games, entertainment and more for the entire family. This is the largest minority Expo in the downstate area and it all goes down THIS WEEKEND!
The Expo opens to the public on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM in Exhibit Halls B and C at the Peoria Civic Center. Admission is Free.
The Expo includes over 100 exhibitors, the Passing the Torch Teen Summit with a Real World Opportunity Fair, an interactive health and wellness fair, a new retail shopping area, business workshops, game shows with prizes, a fall carnival with crafts and games, a future CEO and Business Owners area, a gospel fest, two entrepreneur competitions where businesses will compete for venture capital, mentorship, and operational servicers, a movie Premier/Avantgarde Fashion Show, a 3 point shoot out, and more!
The 19th Annual Central Illinois Black Expo begins on Saturday with the “Passing the Torch” Teen Summit from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM for ages 13 to 19, featuring Peoria District 150’s Woodruff Career and Technical Center. This powerful Teen Summit will include a variety of motivational speakers equipped to empower our youth.
New this year:
– Business Workshops – The Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce has expanded their Building Your Business and Creating Wealth workshops adding Health Care and Black Media forums to create even more comprehensive panels designed to inform and help to move your business to the next level.
– A new Retail Shopping Area – with lots of free product sampling and a variety of exciting merchandise.
– A Gospel Fest – Do you like Gospel music, then don’t miss our Gospel Fest with groups from around Central Illinois. Who will take home the top prize?
– Movie Premier/Avantgarde Fashion Show – Last year the Expo included “Fashion Unveiled” with Namia Mora, fashion model, America’s Next Top Model winner, and author of “Model Behavior”. This year don’t miss our movie premier with live performances and Avantgarde Fashion presented by the XFactor Agency.

– Our popular Back to School Hair Cut-A-Thon with FREE haircuts for the kids.
– An expanded exposition of Woodruff’s Career and Technical Center’s Cosmetology Program with live hair demonstrations and hair braiding.
– A Future CEO and Business Owners area for children 8 – 16. Does your child have a business? Would you like them to showcase it at the Expo? They can sell their products or services at the Expo for FREE. Products include candy, jewelry, T-shirts, art, books, nail services, and more. This area has limited space so contact us right away.
– Passing the Torch Contestant Exhibitions
– An expanded interactive Health and Wellness Fair with free screenings.
– Our wildly popular game shows, “The Prize Is Right” and “Win It In A Minute” with great prizes.
– Bowling courtesy of the National Bowling Association (TNBA)’s Youth Bowling Program. Youth will have an opportunity to sample their bowling skills and parents can sign their children up for this year’s bowling league.
– Tera’s Kidz Corner’s “Fall Carnival” with crafts, games, and prizes.
– A 3 Point Shootout with prizes.
– Face painters, balloon artist, inflatables, and more.
